My name is Carla Wuhrer and I work as Project Director for PROPROJEKT. We offer strategic consultancy services across three major fields, namely building construction, urban development, and major event planning. Within our major event planning division, we focus mainly on sporting events, which is my line of work. In a nutshell, we develop concepts and long-term strategies for our clients – be it organizations, cities, countries, or regions – who are looking at hosting a sporting event, promoting amateur sport and an active lifestyle within their communities, or enhancing sports tourism. Our services range from feasibility studies and economic analysis to the nitty-gritty details of project management. They also include strategic conception and overall support throughout projects.
The main reason behind PROPROJEKT’s decision to set up an office in Lausanne is the presence of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), with whom we have been collaborating since 2017. In general, Lausanne has an unparalleled concentration of sports federations and organizations, as well as sport-related start-ups and academic institutions; I myself completed my Master’s program in Sport Administration here. Our agency is already well established and connected in our native Germany, with offices in Berlin and Frankfurt. Being based in the sporting capital of the world will allow us to upgrade our positioning on an international scale. We also have a number of Swiss-based clients, such as Swiss Olympic and the aforementioned IOC, and we are very much looking forward to working with other Swiss-based companies, organizations, and event holders.
When GGBa reached out to us, we had just started thinking about the possibility of setting up a branch in Switzerland. Sara Schneider-Hamaï, the GGBa representative based in Frankfurt, gave us strategic advice and helped us to understand the options available, and the advantages and disadvantages therein. Once the decision to settle in Lausanne was made, GGBa and Innovaud offered practical assistance and guidance, including introductions to local service providers such as banks and fiduciaries. I particularly appreciated the fact that the investment promotion team was very much behind us, following up constantly and making sure that the administrative process would go smoothly.

Thanks to our recently established Swiss presence, we aim to leverage the extraordinary Lausanne sports ecosystem in order to further increase PROPROJEKT’s international visibility. We are also excited to grow our network and exchange ideas within the sporting community, and to co-create and acquire new projects.
